yeah, i know i haven't been on here for a loooong loooooooong time, i've been busy with school and stuff like that. but, thanks to some encouragement *coughcoughconstantharrasment* by my mom to start working on my art again, i'm gonna be posting on here more regularly. besides i missed all my DA friends since my scanner is broken, it might be a while before i get any sketches up. oh well... at least i still have GIMP. anyway i decided i would go ahead and list all my DA friends/watchers/whatever they're called on my journal entries XD so here they are:

i HAVE been drawing!!! but i never have the chance to upload anything or practice on gimp, but hopefully that's gonna change after my english term paper is finished *dies* and yes, i'm sorry i haven't updated in months. this will probably be the only update for a while, too. i have some stuff going on right now

yesterday (the 28th) there was a terrible fire in ocean isle, north carolina. a beach house was burned to the ground. 7 students died. 6 were injured. the rest got away. one of those killed was one of my friends, william rhea, who had only graduated from my school last year.

his brother andrew was able to get out. as soon as he saw william wasn't outside, he went back in, burning his arms and face severely. his friends held him back as they watched the house burn to the ground.

Anna Lee Rhea said her older brother, William, was among the dead - a devastating blow to their older brother, Andrew, who made it out of the house alive.

"Everybody loved him. Everybody really misses him," she said in a brief telephone interview with the Associated Press. "You couldn't help but love him."

this morning at school we held a memorial service for william. the headmaster started crying so hard that he had to stop speaking and let someone else take over. the entire school was the same way. hardly anyone said a word all day.

i still can't believe will is gone. the same person i was talking to just last year is... dead. he turned 18 last month. not even three years older than me. i'm definitely praying for his family and friends, and everyone who was affected by the fire.

alright i finally got the time to post another journal. school's been a killer and i really haven't had much time for anything else. but i DID start on a pic for 's and 's contest! so hopefully i'll get that done soon. with the weekend being here and having school under control i'm gonna try and upload some stuff but i can't promise anything...

anyway and tagged me. apparently i'm supposed to list 10 things about my art... hmm gonna be kinda hard since i'm not THAT much of an artist but here we goooo:


1. i am usually a perfectionist. if something looks wrong to me i will sit and erase it repeatedly. come to think of it the other day i drew a dog and must have erased it's paws 245436 times. they still didn't look right and i got rid of the picture. which was sad because i think it was pretty good otherwise.

2. i have the stangest urges to draw. 99% of the time i have to force myself to draw anything. that 1% of time that i DO want to draw usually is around 2 in the morning/whenever i left my sketchbook at home/during marine biology/during any other class that ISN'T art. very, veeeeery rarely do i draw otherwise. i guess i just don't feel like it.

3. i get inspired by anything and EVERYTHING. sometimes it's music. usually i just observe the people around me and get inspired by them. but it really just depends. i can't draw at all unless i've got inspiration. which can be a problem sometimes.

4. i use TONS of refrence pics. more than anyone else i know. which isn't much considering i know like 2 other ppl who draw at all. i usually just leave look em up on the computer but sometimes i'll print them out.

5. doing art gives me a... strange... rep at school. i'm adored by most people who can't draw (considering i've had to draw at least 5000 chocobos for people in the last week 0o), respected by the art teacher (who doesn't really like that many people) and hated by the only other artist in my grade (because i beat her to the art award 2 years in a row).

6. i only post a veeeeeerry small portion of what i draw on deviantart. and it's not even the good portion. sometimes i wonder why i even posted it to begin with.

7. if something's going on in my life (not necessarily something bad) i almost always put it into my arwork (doesn't eveyone?). i usually put it in there so subtly that no one even notices unless they already know what's up. even then i'm not really sure that they notice.

8. the only thing that really keeps me drawing is motivation from my friends at school. i mean, i really don't think i draw all that well. but they do (for the most part) it's almost my place in school to be the artist. they don't think i'm weird for it, but they really really show respect for me. and they encourage me to try out new stuff in my pictures too. that's always nice ^^

9. something i reaaaaally want to work on? DIGITAL ART. maaaan do i suck at it now. i'm still trying to work out the kinks in my lineart (sometimes i wish i had a tablet) and i have no idea how to do shading. digital or otherwise. that's a weak point for me.

10. here's something not many people would guess: about a year ago i hated anthros with a PASSION. and i mean i reaaaaaally reaaaaaally couldn't stand them. i still don't know why. cause now i freakin luff em'.

I'm finally back from new york! actually... ive been back since sunday... but w/e. I had a pretty good time and was able to take some pretty cool pics at all the cool places there. they even had a hippie store. i didnt really sketch or anything while i was up there considering there were little cousins breathing over my shoulder and begging me to final fantasy roleplay with them (now THAT was interesting). now that im back im working on an entry of and 's contest. im working on a few other things too, but i dont really know how theyre gonna turn out. so thats all for now!

HEY!!! im from here in new york! avent got much time but im gonna type as much as i can. We've been in penn. for the past few days and now im here in ny with jake, alex, elizabeth, gerritt, and various other ppl and some old farts. but weve been on the speedboat and went tubing (and watched ppl crash haha) and fishing and taking pictures and all that good stuff so ive been really busy... ill try an get on in the next few days but i prolly wont be on until monday at least. these cousins are keepin me really busy. oh well. hi to heather the (checkered) emo and everyone else. i miss yall so much!!!
